Vexkiddy

Vexkiddy has yet to be fully described, as he/she has rarely been seen.

Description

Vexkiddy is the name of an interstellar being who can traverse time space as well as the musical dimension. He was discovered by Dr Cuthbert D Holloway and Professor Bartholemew Strangeways in 1852. Their experiments in space time over a 44 year period proved pivotal to the enhancement of our knowledge of the subject and so say inspired both Einstein and Hawking on their relative theories. Vexkiddy has never been seen, only heard and recorded onto wax cylinder by Dr Holloway in his laboratory. According to Holloway he travelled forward in time and met with Thomas Edison in 1877 and convinced him to borrow his early wax cylinder technology. Edison agreed allowing Holloway to take the machine back with him. Details about some kind of deal between the two regarding Holloway's ability to traverse time, has led to much speculation regarding how Edison came upon the phonograph idea. After the recording was made it only surfaced in the public domain in the year 2007 on a Digital Recording for the OLO Worms collective. Again there is much debate about why the recording took so long to appear.

Even though Vexkiddy has never been seen, the adjacent image was created by Holloway whilst experimenting with the fluctuations of air waves upon candle light and photosensitive emulsions. He just happened to use the original Vexkiddy recording for this experiment when it yielded this result.

Sightings

So far Vexkiddy has been known to have abducted or killed only one person and is considered a dangerous threat to humanity and the stability of space time in general. William Trainee, Holloways' and Strangeways' assistant, disappeared on the night of June the 19th 1852 after conducting some simple experiments that the pair had asked him to complete by morning. It is still unclear what actually happened during that evening. Strangeways has been stated as saying that Trainee was a very keen assistant and often liked to try and work out what the pair where working on. At the time both Strangeways and Holloway had developed their Interstellar Time Wave Modulator which was capable of shifting any kind of matter backward in time by a several minutes. It is theorised by the pair that Trainee must have spent several hours in the evening after the pair had left 'tinkering' with the machine, and some how made it move its operator forward in time by a huge amount. Strangeways found the small hand held device in the morning and noticed that it was covered in some kind of liquid that he couldn't identify. He then intended to go back in time over several attempts (as the machine could only go back in minutes) to ascertain what may have happened to Trainee, but in doing so found out that machine actually took him into the future. It is unclear as to what time zone Strangeways visited at this point, but Holloway is noted to have said that when he entered the lab on the morning of the 20th, he found Strangeways huddled under the lab table holding himself and muttering the word 'Hardcore'. It is still argued what he meant by this, but some have theorised that he may have witnessed a short burst of the early dance music scene during the 1990's, though there are thoughts that he may have just over heard the word at the local aggregates and the trauma caused him to recite it over and over.

Mystery

Vexkiddy is still classed as a mystery even in this time and age and is often referred to during talks about mythical gods and creatures. There are rumours that both Strangeways and Holloway have managed to master the art of traversing time and have dedicated the rest of their lives trying to discover the identity of the mysterious Vexkiddy. The name Vexkiddy was apparently coined by Holloway a few days after the incident with Trainee, stating "It vexes me how something so overwhelmingly fantastical could happen to a young man such as Trainee, this being must be found as soon as possible Strangeways, for it is some kind of Vexkiddy!!"
